What You Need to Make Silly Seed Animals
Soil
A pair of hosiery or tights (it’s best if they are individual and not attached)
Small rubber bands
Glass jars
Glue
Decorative art accessories like googly eyes, pom poms, and more.
Grass seeds
Silly Seed Animal Instructions:
Step 1: Prep Seeds and Soil
Grab a jar and place tights over it with the closed end inside it. The open end of the tights acts as an elastic to keep everything in place.
Add the seeds inside the tights first, then add the soil. The soil should be moist, but not dripping wet.
Step 2: Tie it Up
Remove the tights with the seeds and soil inside from the glass jar and tie a knot at the top.
There should be no extra space, so make sure the knot is secure and tight around the solid and seeds.
Step 3: Add Facial Features with Rubber Bands
Grab your rubber bands and tie them around the tights to create ears, a nose, and more to form your silly seed animal’s facial features.
Step 4: Time To Decorate
Now it’s time to get creative. Using a small dot of Elmer’s glue add google eyes and pom poms to decorate your silly seed animals.
You can also use felt pieces to accent the ears to make a cat or a happy face. Let your child get as creative as they want!
Step 5: Watch it Grow
Place it back in the glass jar or a smaller container. Put your seed animal in a sunny spot and spray it with water.
The grass should sprout in about seven days when it’s placed in a warm spot.
