Simple Ways to Make Mother’s Day Special

Recommended for: Kids of all ages

⭐ Clean Something

Choose a room, like the living room or a bathroom, and work on tidying it up. You can straighten the pillows on the couch, fold up a blanket, put dishes away, clean the sink, or dust or wipe down surfaces.

⭐ Help Make a Meal

During the week, talk to an adult or older sibling and plan a meal for Mom. Pick up the groceries you need and then work together to create it. Don’t forget to clean up when you’re done eating! If making a meal isn’t possible, go into the kitchen while Mom or Grandma is cooking and ask how you can help.

⭐ Let Mom Pick An Activity

The next time you’re picking a book or movie to read or watch together, let Mom make the choice. Then, ask her what she liked about the book or movie when you’ve finished. You could also ask her what her favorite books or movies were from when she was a child.

⭐ Tell Her Why You Love Her

Let Mom know she’s special and appreciated by thanking her for the things she does and telling her something you love about her, like the way she hugs you, reads to you, asks about your day, drives you places, or helps you with things.
