Although the activities are tailored for preschoolers, it’s a good idea for an adult to be present to assist as needed.
Some of these letter F crafts and activities require the outline of a letter F. You can draw one yourself or find one in our free printable collection of letter F worksheets.
1. F is for Fork
Who knew forks added fantastic features to art?!!
Required Materials
- paint
- paper plate
- paper
- disposable fork
How To
Print out or draw the outline of the letter F onto a sheet of card stock. Squirt several different colors of paint onto a paper plate, then give your child a disposable fork. Have them dip the back side of the fork’s prongs into the paint and then stamp the prongs onto the card stock, filling in the letter F outline.
Repeat with different colors, switching the direction of the prongs. Observe how the colors overlap to create patterns.
2. F is for Foil
You can choose to use crumbled or flat pieces of foil in this letter F creation.
Required Materials
- construction paper
- scissors
- aluminum foil
- liquid craft glue
How To
Print out or draw the outline of the letter F onto a sheet of thick paper or card stock. Trim out the letter F from the paper. Next, tear off 1-to-2-inch strips of aluminum foil and have your child cut or tear them into smaller pieces or squish them into balls. Now arrange the foil balls or pieces onto the letter F and glue them in place.
3. F is for Felt Flamingo
You can also use felt to create a ferret, frog, fox, or feline.
Required Materials
- felt pieces
- scissors
- marker
- glue
- paper
- fabric glue
How To
Have kids cut felt into squares, then help them trim the squares into leaf shapes. You will need one large leaf shape for the flamingo’s body and two smaller leaf shapes for its feathers.
Use a black marker to draw an oval-shaped body, long neck, eye, and beak with a black marker onto a white sheet of card stock. Glue the felt pieces over the oval shape you drew, creating a pink felt body for the flamingo. Finally, draw in scrawny legs to complete the flamingo!

Required Materials
- thick white paper
- white crayon
- water color paint
How To
Use a white crayon to write uppercase and lowercase letter Fs onto a sheet of white card stock or thick paper. These Fs will not be visible…yet!
Have your child use watercolors to paint all over the paper. The watercolor paint won’t be absorb wherever the crayon marks are, thus magically revealing the letter Fs you wrote onto the page.

This paper fire depicts the cozy warmth of bonfires or the flickering flames of the fireplace.
Required Materials
- red, orange, yellow, and white paper
- glue
- scissors
How To
Starting with the white paper, cut out a smaller-sized white flame of fire. Feel free to draw the flame first with a pencil before cutting it out. Repeat this process with the yellow, orange and red paper, making the fire shape larger each time. Layer each of the flames on top of each other, with the largest flame on the bottom. Then glue them together.
