1. H is for Hand Print
Share a colorful high five as children brighten up their handprint.
Required Materials
- paper
- paint
- paper plate
- paint brush
How To
Explain to your child that you’ll be making a stamp of their hand, and you’ll need to apply paint to their palm and fingers. If they haven’t touched paint before, help them understand that it will be cool and wet and it may tickle when you brush it on.
Have your child pick one or several colors of paint for their handprint art and where they would like the colors to appear. Apply the paint to your child’s hand, then have them press their palm and fingers onto a white sheet of paper.
Wiggle their hand and press down firmly to get a good imprint. Carefully lift their hand to reveal their hand print!
Tip: This makes a great piece of memorabilia that can be used as cards or gifts for grandparents and other family members.

Carefully paint water over the tissue paper to smooth it out. You and your child will start to see the colors of the tissue paper slowly run into each other, creating a unique effect.

Set the letter H horse shape and all of its parts out for your child, and work with them to glue them on. Feel free to have fun with it, and cut out a lime green mane and bright purple tail. Then, glue on or draw in an eye, nose, and mouth.
