Fun Learning Activities with Grammar Review

⭐ Grammar I Spy

Encourage your child to keep their eyes peeled for homophones, similes, conjunctions, predicates, and more when they’re reading books or while they’re out and about. This can be an especially fun game when driving and reading billboards, street signs, and bumper stickers.

Fill-in-the-Blank Games

Similar to Mad Libs, create a short story that’s missing several nouns, verbs, adjectives, and more. Then have your child fill in the blanks–the sillier their word choices the more laughs the story will get. Challenge your child to create their own fill-in-the-blank story for a friend or sibling next.

⭐ Contraction Cut-Up

Think of several contractions, then, using large letters, write the full phrase (not using the contraction). For example, you’ll write out You are for the contraction you’re. Then, ask your child to cut the words apart and put them back together as a contraction. For the phrase I am, they’ll cut out the a and put the I and m together to form I’m.
